    The Arts

The arts are an integral component of the Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School curriculum. Children are taught how to draw, paint, and sculpt at an early age. Artistic principles- perception, color, design, layout, styles of famous artists, and an appreciation of art- are woven throughout the curriculum, fostering a sense of creativity and originality. Students express themselves through music as they sing both traditional and modern Israeli songs. They learn to celebrate their rich cultural heritage. Music is used as part of the Hebrew language curriculum as well. The strong connection between Park East Day School and Israel is emphasized. Dance and movement are a component of the arts curriculum from an early age. Students learn to extend their vocabulary in both Hebrew and English, as well as improve their coordination and memory skills, while participating in aerobic exercises. Children of all ages collaborate in our school-wide drama productions. Drama builds students’ self-confidence as they sing, dance, and participate in the technical aspects of theater production. The arts curriculum at Park East Day School celebrates students’ talent, imagination, and individuality.
